MY START IN BMX
I picked up a BMX bike in 1985 when I was young. East Haven felt like the right place to learn - we had friends who rode, and something just clicked about being on that bike. From day one, I knew I wanted to learn everything: street tricks, big air, flowing transitions. It was all new to me, and I was hungry to try it all.
MY LEARNING YEARS
Those early years were about finding what stuck. I rode vert and halfpipes whenever I could access them, and spent plenty of time on flat ground learning the balance and feel of flatland. Old-school BMX had a vibe to it - the riders before us had already pushed hard, and we were building on that. Every ride taught me something about control and style.
RIDING TODAY
